My Grandparents immigrated from Germany in the 50's with 2 small children and not knowing a soul on this side of the world. It was a time of making do and living simply. Meals weren't fancy but they were always flavorsome, and bellies were full. This was how my grandmother continued to cook throughout her life. I will always remember the smells from my grandmother's kitchen, the delicious cakes and biscuits that were always on offer, and never underestimate the flavour's that can come from an onion sauteed in butter with a bit of speck and a boiled potato. This class will be full of some of my most favourite food memories based on German food traditions, made the way Grandma did, resulting in a delicious, hearty lunch. Bellies will definitely be full!
